Development Approval Process
Clear acoustic advice from quotation through to reporting and project support.
Getting a quote
Soundscape provides quotations free of charge, typically within one to two days. Your quotation includes the scope of work, typical timeframe and associated cost.
Email your project information to contact@soundscape.com.au so we can review your requirements.
Site inspection & noise logging
Once you accept the quotation, the next step for most projects is a site inspection. An acoustic consultant attends the site to record the surrounding environment, noise sources and relevant project information.
If long-term noise logging is required, it begins at this stage and typically runs for seven to ten days, depending on weather and project requirements.
Noise assessment
We assess your project against the relevant local, state and federal criteria, using modern noise modelling software where required to predict noise levels.
If the assessment identifies non-compliance, we work with you to develop economical, practical acoustic solutions. The findings and recommendations inform the final report.
Acoustic reporting
Soundscape prepares clear, concise acoustic reports addressing applicable requirements from local councils, the EPA and certifying authorities. We also consider relevant guidance from the Association of Australasian Acoustical Consultants (AAAC), where appropriate to the assessment.
The report documents the assessment outcomes and recommendations for review by the relevant approval authority.
Ongoing support
You have direct communication with the consultant working on your project, including after report completion.
Our cost structure includes answering your questions and a round of minor updates to accommodate adjustments to your project after the report is completed.
